Ski touring in Svalbard is the first ski book about Spitsbergen Island. There is something special that makes this part of the world unique.

It`s the High North`s magic atmosphere, the colours of the mountains, of the sky and of frozen fjords. It`s the thin and cold air of these latitudes that goes with the silence. It`s the huge spaces and the feeling of being alone in the Nature, without villages, without people, without traces in the snow.

The book offers selected tours in five different geographic areas. 101 peaks and 213 ski lines. Each itinerary is described in detail and accompanied by photos and maps.

Giovanni Poli has been working in Svalbard since 2002 and still continues to guide skiers and explore new mountains.

This book is the result of the valuable collaboration with his brother Stefano, who is a tour operator and resident in Svalbard since 1994.
